Police officers of the Directorate for Organized and Serious Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska and the Zvornik Police Department, within the framework of the operational action “Pelikan”, which is implemented in the area of the police departments of Zvornik and Bijeljina, today deprived eight persons of their liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal acts of “Unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs”, “Facilitating the consumption of narcotic drugs” and “Illegal production and trafficking of weapons and explosive materials”.
Searches are underway at several locations in the area of the cities of Zvornik and Bijeljina, and in the activities so far, more than two kilograms of cocaine, three digital scales, 982 packs of cigarettes, three pistols and three pistol barrels, two silencers, two kilograms of plastic explosives, 823 grams of TNT bullets, 26 pieces of initiator caps, nine remote controls for the detonator, three anti-personnel landmines, four lighters for an anti-personnel land mine, two electric detonators, one RAP with three frames, one passenger motor vehicle with a specially designed hidden space for transporting narcotic drugs, several mobile phones, as well as other items that can serve as evidence in criminal proceedings.
All activities are carried out under the supervision of the District Public Prosecutor’s Office of Bijeljina and according to the orders of the District Court of Bijeljina.
The police officers of the Criminal Police Directorate, the Police Support Directorate, the Gendarmerie and the police departments of Bijeljina and Banja Luka also participate in the mentioned activities, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS announced.
