“Field training of our units was planned before and those plans were approved. Earlier we had a three-day training at the territory of Prijedor, then at the territory of Trebinje. Now we are having this training in the area between Bijeljina and East Sarajevo,” Vasić said.
Vasić explained that the training usually lasts for three or four days.
“This is a practice of coping of our members, the special units, in outdoor and unknown terrain, practicing the performance of police operations in such conditions and overcoming of mountain conditions,” Vasić said.
Vasić stated that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RS does not have the practice to announce the drills to the local population that might be concerned with the appearance of a larger number of armed police officers.
“There is no reason to announce the drill. If the population is surprised, they should check on the right place what it is about and in that way we will prevent someone who is not a regular or military police service to conduct such training,” Vasić added, highlighting that all citizens of Srebrenica and its surroundings who requested information from the police have been clearly informed about the situation.
Drill of the members of special units of the MIA RS should be completed in the next two days.
