Director of the Institute for Statistics of FBiH Emir Kremić said: „I would be happy if we managed to complete this census. However, the federal Institute for Statistics had to defend the EU path of BiH, the legality of work and the publishing of census results, and the international standards that BiH committed to. This speaks of the situation in which we were brought due to inadequate treatment of one such important project by the Agency for Statistics of BiH, and the Council of Minister of BiH committed to that project in the Reform Agenda.“
Kremić said that the federal Institute operates in accordance with international standards.
„I expect urgent action by the EU delegation and I expect the International community to take side, because staying neutral will not contribute to the solving of this problem. The time has come to be said who is guilty. Someone has to give the answers. We gave our maximum contribution through all sessions,“ Kremić said.
Kremić said that they expect from the Council of Ministers of BiH to operate in accordance with the law.
„They did their part of the job very well. I repeat, responsibility is on the Agency for Statistics of BiH now,“ said Kremić, adding that this process has been legally brought to an end,
„All legal conditions have been met, nothing happened to make us extend the deadline for publishing. If the methodology was signed today, everything would be completed on time. The federal Institute is ready to offer three-shift operating to the Agency for Statistics of BiH, so that everything could be completed within the legal framework,“ Kremić added.
The census must be completed and published by July 1. If that does not happen, if the law is not respected, what are the consequences for BiH?
„If the law obliged citizens to give all their data, then in accordance with that the citizens have the right to ask for the data they provided,“ said Kremić.
