During this five-day festival audiences will have a chance to view more than 80 film screenings, including film retrospectives by Harun Farocki and a mini-retrospective by Ulrike Ottinger, films by John Smith and Karpo Godina, interesting works by young and upcoming film directors, as well as the greats from the world of documentary filmmaking, like Frederick Wiseman and Chris Marker.
What started in 2006 as a series of documentary films on human rights by students in the Master’s Program in Democracy and Human Rights Law at the University of Sarajevo has, nine years later, developed into a renowned international film festival which shows the most recent and most successful documentary films on human rights.
The Festival really tries to avoid all forms of commercialization, so entrance to all screenings is free of charge.
Films featured as part of the 9th Annual Pravo Ljudski Film Festival will be shown at Meeting Point, Kriterion Art Cinema, Duplex100m2 Gallery and the Goethe-Institute BiH.
