Rohinja people were almost unknown to the broader worldwide population until the last three years. According to UNHCR data, from January to March 2014, more than 87,000 Rohinja people were “smuggled” in Indonesia and Malaysia. Unthinkable violence is done over Rohinja people and it reflects in the most horrific torture, rape, enslavement, confiscation of the land and prohibition of the right of movement, sexual slavery, destruction of mosques and schools and persecution.
Media from all around the world have, in the past, brought photos of “people from the boat” where we could see the suffering Rohinja people hungry, thirsty, crying, without help and without hope, while trying to escape the terrible torture done by Arakan political operatives, Buddhist monks and ordinary Arakans in Myanmar, as stated by rijaset.ba.
On the initiative of Reis-ul-Ulema of the Islamic Community in B&H, Husein ef. Kavazović, several activities are initiated in order to introduce BH public with the fate of Rohinja Muslims. One of these activities is the presentation in the Gazi Husrev-Bey’s Library.
The presentation will be set up until the 10th of September 2015, and can be seen every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
