Presidency of BiH in a new Light soon

12910527_1141025719281716_1366197958_nOffice for Joint Affairs of the Institutions of BiH published public call for the selection of the company that will offer technical solution for restoration, recovery and conservation of the building of the Presidency of BiH, a facility with cultural and historical significance. Around 355.000 BAM were allocated in the budget for these purposes, and the project of the reconstruction of the Building of the Presidency of BiH might cost about six million BAM.

This is already the second public call, since only one company responded to the first one. That company did not meet the requirements. One of the key prerequisite is that the company interested in the job must possess license for restoration of cultural and historical monuments. Namely, the facility of the Presidency of BiH has been decaying for years, and additional damage was made to it in the fire during the riots in February 2014.

Meanwhile, the project of repairing the leaking roof has been launched and is currently in progress. The project mentioned before includes complete reconstruction of the building: replacement of electrical installations and water supply network, new façade, replacement of windows and doors, etc.

Dženan Selimbegović, the Deputy Secretary General of the Presidency of BiH, reminds that the project of reconstruction was launched last year, when the Council of Ministers adopted the program of perennial capital investments in the facility of the Presidency of BiH upon the proposal by the Office for Joint Affairs of Institutions of BiH.

“This year, we expect the making of project documentation for the recovery of the building of the Presidency, which is a demanding and important venture per se, as well as the implementation of the reconstruction of the roof. Moreover, upon our initiative the reconstruction of the area in front of the official entrance into the premises of the Presidency of BiH is also planned in this year. It will be financed by the Centar Municipality and Directorate for Roads of the Sarajevo Canton in equal proportions,” Selimbegović said.
