President of Serbia and FM of Russia discussed Kosovo and BiH

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić spoke by phone with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Monday about the situation in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Vučić announced on his Instagram profile that he had a very good and meaningful conversation with the Russian foreign minister.

“I informed Minister Lavrov, as a representative of a UN member state, that Pristina, in violation of all acts of international public law, is trying to ban the Serbian List from participating in the upcoming elections. We talked and jointly expressed our concern about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska and agreed that full respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement is the best way to preserve peace and stability,” Vučić said.

He added that the topics of the conversation included the announced sanctions on the Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) and that a meeting of Serbian and Russian experts was agreed upon as soon as the US sanctions are made public.

He added that he and the Russian foreign minister also discussed other issues of bilateral cooperation, and expressed their belief that greater engagement could increase trade between Serbia and Russia.
