The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), Nermin Niksic, spoke yesterday, at the headquarters of the Government of the FBiH in Sarajevo, with the representative of the European Investment Bank (EIB) for BiH and Montenegro, Sandrine Friscia, and the EIB loan officer for the Western Balkans, Branko Cevriz.
Federal Minister of Transport and Communications Andrijana Katic and Federal Minister of Tourism and Environment Nasiha Pozder attended the meeting.
This was an opportunity to discuss the realization of previous projects and the possibility of new projects, and it was noted that the cooperation so far has been very good, as well as that there is interest in its continuation.
Prime Minister Niksic recalled that thanks to projects with the EIB and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as two key financial organizations, 62 kilometers of the highway were built during his first mandate, but many other projects were also launched.
“I hope that we will make that momentum now, but also continue with the already current and some new projects. On our part, we will do everything to raise the cooperation to an even higher level,” said the federal prime minister.
EIB representatives said that they are interested in projects in the field of road infrastructure, especially railways, as well as highway projects on Corridor Vc, but also when it comes to main roads. In addition to existing projects, the EIB is also interested in additional projects in the field of environmental protection and energy.
