The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and the BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Zlatko Lagumdžija received yesterday the Ambassador of Kuwait to BiH Mohammad Fadel Khalafa Al-Telaijya.
Lagumdžija expressed his satisfaction with the intensification of contacts and exchange of visits at a high level between BiH and Kuwait, and assessed that cooperation of institutions in economics, culture, education and science could raise it to a higher level.
He expressed his interest for the improvement of economic cooperation between BiH and Kuwait, most particularly in the area of foreign investment.
With this in mind, he expressed his satisfaction with the interest shown by Kuwaiti financial institutions and businesspeople to invest in BiH and believes that Kuwaiti investors would want to invest in other areas, such as Corridor 5-C through Kuwaiti funds.
Ambassador Al-Telaijy agreed with this assessment, and invited Lagumdžija to visit Kuwait again so that they could continue with their successful cooperation, and he also gave a new impetus to economic cooperation between the two nations.
With this in mind, Lagumdžija proposed to organize a business forum of businesspeople from both countries, and for BiH to prepare concrete projects from different areas that would be presented to Kuwaiti officials and investment funds.
During the meeting, Lagumdžija emphasized the importance of last year’s direct flights between Sarajevo and Kuwait, and expressed satisfaction over the fact that the number of tourists from Kuwait to BiH increased from 6,000 in 2011 to 17,000 in 2012, and he expects it to further increase in 2013.
