The prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against Kerim Lučarević.
Lucarevic is accused of having, during the international armed conflict, between parts of the former JNA and TO RBiH in the area of Sarajevo, in the time period from May 3 to mid-May 1992, within the scope of his authority, in the capacity of commander of the Military Police of the Republican
Territorial Headquarters of the Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, acted contrary to the rules of international humanitarian law.
The accused is accused of having, on 02.05.1992. year, after an attack was carried out on an undefended mixed column of soldiers and civilians employed in the former JNA, under the escort of the United Nations peacekeeping forces, in his capacity as the commander of the Military Police, he did not take the necessary and reasonable measures to punish the perpetrators of murder and wounding of soldiers and civilians, prevent physical and psychological abuse of captured JNA members, as well as to punish the perpetrators of these acts.
“The indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH also refers to the events of May 3, 1992, which relate to the suffering of eight murdered victims with established identities, among whom there are civilians and medical personnel, the wounding of 24 people, and the capture of tens of soldiers and civilians who tortured, abused and imprisoned in the premises of the FIS, the Territorial Defense Headquarters of the RBiH in the building of the Presidency of the RBiH and on the fifth floor of the Central Prison,” the state prosecutor’s office announced.
The accused is accused of having committed the criminal acts of war crimes against the civilian population under Article 173, war crimes against the wounded and sick under Article 174, war crimes against prisoners of war under Article 175, and unlawful killing and wounding of the enemy under Article 177. and everything related to Article 180 of the CC of BiH.
