A motion to order custody has been proposed for suspect Goran Radić, born in 1977 in Gračanica, citizen of BiH.
The custody measure was proposed for the reasons described in Article 132 (1) (b) and c), that is, due to the risk that the suspect might obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accomplices, and commit a criminal offence again or complete the initiated one.
The suspect is under investigation due to a grounded suspicion that he committed the criminal offence of Organised Crime in conjunction with the criminal offence of Illicit Trafficking in Arms and Military Equipment and Products of Dual Use under the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is continuing its intensive investigation in this case.
Also, the prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH working on the case, after questioning all the suspects in the “Diamond” case, sent a motion to the Court of BiH to order the following five suspects into custody.
The above-mentioned suspects are under investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and SIPA and are suspected of acting as an organised criminal group with the aim of smuggling and placing larger quantities of “Speed” drugs on the illegal drug market in BiH in order to acquire significant illegal gain.
In an extensive operation carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the police, the suspects were discovered, located and deprived of their freedom, after which they were brought to the prosecutor in charge and questioned in the presence of their defence counsel.
The custody measure was moved to ensure the smooth conducting of the investigation, because of the risk of flight of some of the suspects, and to prevent the suspects from obstructing the investigation, concealing evidence and influencing witnesses or accomplices, as well as from repeating the crime or completing the one that has been initiated.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, together with partner police institutions and agencies, is continuing the investigation with the aim of fully clarifying and documenting the illegal activities of the suspects and the commission of criminal offences in this case.
