Dissatisfied with low salaries and non-signing of the collective agreement, employees of state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) protested yesterday in front of the building of the Parliament of BiH. They claim that they are on the brink of survival and that their human rights, as well as their existence, are endangered.
Low salaries, non-signing of the collective agreement, inadequate insurance of field workers… Officials and employees in BiH institutions are looking for a solution to these problemswhile protesting for the third time this year.
“The salary did not increase in state institutions and it sounds incredible that our hygienist and that hygienist is always mentioned since she is the basis for every calculation, has coefficient one. Our hygienist has a salary of 475 BAM, ” toldSalih Karcic, the Union of Civil Servants and Employees in BiH Institutions.
Miroslav Vujicic, from the Trade Union Organization at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, states that they seek only the most basic human rights:
“When I work in a company where someone almost doesn’t work at all, works ten hours a month, has a salary of 6000 BAM, and the hygienist who cleans the space where that person works every day gets 475 BAM, so where are we then?”, BHRT writes.
