Protests on Saturday Over Sarajevo Tragedy: Citizens Called to Gather in Front of the National Museum

The informal citizen group “Say Enough” has called on all Sarajevo residents to join a peaceful protest scheduled for today in front of the National Museum at 3 p.m.

According to the organizers, the protest will demand accountability for the tragedy that occurred on Thursday, in which one young man lost his life and four others were injured, including one of them seriously.

The peaceful protest is set to begin at 3 p.m.

Earlier on Friday, students and high-schoolers gathered at the same location for the same reason, while blocking traffic for two hours. Their blockade started shortly before noon. They said they do not feel safe riding trams, walking on the streets, or even when it snows.

They called on the Sarajevo Cantonal Government to immediately withdraw all old trams from service. Young people believe that things can improve, but decisive action is needed, emphasizing that there is sufficient funding to do so.
