Young and talented BiH artists from every part of the country will have an opportunity to share their vision of the European Union by participating in “EU in Art”, an art competition organised as part of the Europe Day celebrations under the auspices of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH.

A special jury that will include BiH artists and people from the arts community will select the 20 best entries to be exhibited on Europe Day, 9 May 2013, at the Alija Izetbegović Square in Zenica. There will be prizes for the top three entries, and the winner of the competition will be a guest at the official diplomatic reception organised on the occasion of Europe Day, at the Army Hall in Sarajevo.

Artists are invited to portray the “wider and deeper community” of the European Union envisaged  by Robert Schuman, and the role of citizens within that community.  Specifically, BiH artists will be asked to consider what this community will mean for the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future.

After being exhibited in Zenica, the artworks will be shown at venues in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar and other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The deadline for submitting entries, in digital format, is 25 April 2013 at 23:59 pm. To send entries or to ask for more information about the competition please email eu.in.art@gmail.com.

More information on competition entry requirements can be found at the website of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH: www.europa.ba and on the Delegation’s Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/europa.ba
