Qatar Signs $200 Billion Deal to Purchase 160 Passenger Jets from Boeing

Qatar signed a $200 billion deal to buy 160 passenger jets from U.S. manufacturer Boeing during President Donald Trump’s visit to the Gulf Arab country.

Trump and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani attended the signing ceremony in Doha.

The deal was announced during Trump’s visit to the Gulf countries, after the U.S. president signed a series of deals with Saudi Arabia yesterday.

Trump said Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg told him at the signing ceremony that “it’s the largest jet order in Boeing’s history.”

“It’s over $200 billion, but 160 in terms of planes, that’s fantastic. So that’s a record, Kelly, and congratulations to Boeing. Get those planes there, get them there,” Trump said.
