As part of the Sarajevo Street Food Market, three races with interesting names were held yesterday on Wilson’s Promenade – “Double Burger,” “Prom Queen,” and “Carlsberg Beer Mile.”
Namely, these are not classic races where competitors demonstrate only physical fitness, but races that include special rules and prizes.
The atmosphere on Wilson’s Promenade was excellent, and passers-by cheered the participants all the way to the finish line.
First on the schedule was the “Double Burger” race – a 4.000-meter relay race where a man and a woman from the team each run two kilometers, and at the end, as a reward, they win hamburgers.
Then followed a very challenging race, intended for women. “Prom Queen” is a race in high heels, 800 meters long, and the rule is that all participants must wear shoes with heels higher than eight centimeters.
Finally, the “Carlsberg Beer Mile” took place – the traditional “beer mile,” where participants run four laps of 400 meters, with mandatory drinking of beer or cider before each lap.
To conclude the evening on a high note, the legendary Bosnian singer Halid Beslic performed at Wilson’s Promenade, bringing together all generations with timeless hits such as ‘Miljacka,’ ‘Hej, zoro ne svani,’ ‘Ja bez tebe ne mogu da zivim,’ ‘Malo je malo dana,’ ‘Prvi poljubac,’ ‘Romanija,’ ‘Crna ruzo,’ ‘Kad zaigra srce od meraka,’ ‘U meni jesen je,’ and others, Klix.ba writes.
