The County Court in Mostar issued a verdict that found the accused Eso Razić guilty of war crimes against prisoners of war and sentenced him to ten years in prison.

The accused is accused of having acted as a member of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the armed conflict between the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and the Croatian Defense Council (HVO) in violation of the provisions of Art. 3. point 1 indent a. III of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War of August 12, 1949, which prohibits the killing of protected prisoners of war. Thus, in violation of the rules of International Law during the armed conflict, he committed the murder of two prisoners of war, the County Court in Mostar announced.

After the first-instance verdict was pronounced, the court issued a decision extending the defendant’s detention, which can last for a maximum of nine months, that is, until October 21 of this year or until the court decides otherwise.

This judgment is not final because the parties have the right to appeal it.
