Real Madrid basketball player Dzanan Musa has started negotiations with the club about extending his contract.
“At the start, I had a ‘two plus one’ contract. They had the option to extend or terminate the contract, and now they have extended it. Now the negotiations for a new contract begin, so this doesn’t mean I have other plans. Of course, there is a possibility of returning to the United States (U.S.), but I don’t want to talk about that. I am very happy at Real and I hope that if a good offer comes, I will stay at Real for many years,” Musa stated.
Musa also mentioned that there is a possibility he could return to the NBA next summer, where he played for the Brooklyn Nets from 2018 to 2020.
“The possibility of a return is there, but I am trying to stay focused on this season and play it as best as I can. Things will happen from February, and I am prepared for any outcome,” Musa added.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) representative was named the Most Valuable Player of the Spanish league finals this year, where Real Madrid became champions with a 3-0 victory against Murcia.
Musa won the EuroLeague with Real Madrid last year, and in the same season, he was selected to the ideal five of that competition.
He joined Real Madrid in 2022 after being named the Most Valuable Player of the Spanish league the previous season while playing for Rio Breogan, N1 writes.
