”In the period from February 22nd to March 7th, 2022, a total of 1.483 Ukrainian citizens were registered, 816 at the entrance to BiH and 667 at the exit from the country,” said Franka Vican, spokeswoman of the BiH Border Police.
In the same period last year, she stressed, a total of 365 citizens of Ukraine were registered, which represents an increase in turnover by 306.30 percent.
She further states that during January, a total of 1.127 citizens of Ukraine were registered at BiH border crossings (373 at the entrance and 754 at the exit from BiH), while in the same period last year 406 were recorded, which is an increase of 177.59 percent (721 people).
”These statistical indicators indicate that compared to the same periods last year, there was an increase in the movement of Ukrainian citizens across the border of BiH,” Vican stressed.
So far, 1.735.068 Ukrainian civilians, mostly women and children have crossed the border into the West, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said on Monday, with most refugees housed in Poland.
