The British Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Julian Reilly, has spoken out about the introduction of a reserve, or auxiliary, police force in the Republika Srpska.
Yesterday, the RS National Assembly adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Police and Internal Affairs, which introduces a reserve, or auxiliary, police force.
Reilly stressed that the United Kingdom and international partners are calling for a review of the decision to form a reserve police force.
“The decision to form a reserve police force in the Republika Srpska is unnecessary and leads to escalation; it would be better to invest efforts in the existing police force. The United Kingdom and our international partners are calling for a review of this decision,” said Reilly.
