Remains of one person, pieces of clothing and footwear have been found in Rujiste near Visegrad and the remains have been sent to the Center for Autopsy and Identification of Goražde.
Acting on an order of the Prosecutor in charge of the case, an Investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes has coordinated authorized officials’ work on the exhumation and search for the remains of victims from the previous war at the Rujišta site near Višegrad.
The remains found at the aforementioned site included a bone of one person’s skull, as well as pieces of clothing and footwear.
The process of exhumation has been conducted with the participation of a forensic expert, an Investigator from the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a representative of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina and workers of the Cantonal Public Utilities Enterprise “Pokop” from Sarajevo, and the site has been secured by the police officers of the Višegrad Police Station of the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior.
Representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with its partner institutions and agencies, participate in the processes of exhumations and search for missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
