Representatives of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, together with prosecutor Džermin Pašić, head of the Department for Organized Crime, met with a delegation from the French Ministry of the Interior (DCIS and OFAST) that came to BiH as part of a study on the fight against international drug trafficking in Southeastern Europe, which led by the French General Police Commissioner Patrick Laberche.
OFAST is an institution that operates on the territory of France and was founded and became operational in 2020, in order to strengthen capacity in the fight against drug smuggling.
The meeting discussed the work and activities of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of France in the fight against international drug trafficking, the cooperation of law enforcement agencies and institutions of the two countries, as well as cooperation in the processing of cases with evidence from SKY and Anom applications, because the institutions Republic of France, among the main partners of law enforcement agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina in this area.
The representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH informed their colleagues from France that in the past few years, the prosecutor’s office has filed indictments against dozens of people for the criminal offense of illicit traffic in narcotic drugs, among which a large number of cases related specifically to the international smuggling of narcotics in large quantities, as well as that within the scope of the case with evidence from the SKY and Anom applications, a large part of the indictments filed so far relate precisely to criminal offenses of organized crime and money laundering, which are related to international drug smuggling.
The police attache of France in BiH, Philippe Ganglof, also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, it was agreed that the good and efficient cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and partner institutions and agencies will continue in the future, announced the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
