The explanation of this joint initiative launched by the Mayor Komšić and his Deputies Aljoša Čampara and Ranko Čović is the inappropriate statement of the Zagreb Mayor in regard to the inner rearrangement of B&H. Thus, this is the reason for reviewing this recognition.
“The statement of Milan Bandić for Al Jazeera Balkans on 10 March is perceived as a blow to the democratic process in the region. We are very concerned about these inappropriate statements, due to the good and friendly relations between Sarajevo and Zagreb, especially with Milan Bandić, who in his statements deals with entities and internal rearrangement of B&H, meaning dealing with the constitutional changes of the B&H state”, regarding the initiative for revocation of the recognition for Bandić.
The City Council during the session of 26 February made the decision on the recognition “Honorary citizen of Sarajevo city” to be awarded to the Mayor of Zagreb City Milan Bandić. The initiative to review this decision will be part of the daily agenda of tomorrow’s session of the City Council.
The possibility of the cancellation of this award is considered in case when the person awarded acts in contrary to the interests of the integrity and sovereignty of B&H, its peoples and citizens and the City of Sarajevo.
