The session will be held at FAO headquarters in Rome from 15-19 April this year.
In accordance with the Program of the Commission, the upcoming session will focus on key issues in the preparation of the state to create the document for biodiversity for food and agriculture in the world, access to and benefit from the sharing of genetic resources, impact of climate change on the state of genetic resources for food and agriculture, and biodiversity and nutrition.
Đurić is also the Director of the Institute for Genetic Resources of the University in Banja Luka.
The FAO Commission for Genetic Resources has a coordinating role and deals with the policies of sectoral and cross-sectoral issues related to the conservation and sustainable use of genetic resources of importance for food and agriculture.
The role of the Commission is to maintain attention on all issues that are based on policies, programs and activities of the FAO in the area of genetic resources of importance for food and agriculture, including their conservation and sustainable use and fair and equitable distribution of benefits derived from their use.
