Rusmir Isak: Regardless of the lynching, I will run the prison firmly, justly and empathetically

Rusmir Isak officially assumed the position of director of the Penitentiary Zenica, and on that occasion, he announced that he would run the prison firmly, but justly and empathetically.

“Regardless of the media lynching and challenges that followed me in the previous days, i.e. from the day I was appointed director of the Zenica Penitentiary, I remain persistent in my intention to perform the function of director professionally and honorably,” said Isak.

He added that he had already held a series of constructive meetings with the team of collaborators, visited each segment of the Zenica Penitentiary in detail, and familiarized himself with the challenges in the prison.

“My goal is to run the prison firmly, but fairly and empathetically. There are no untouchable and privileged prisoners and there never will be. As a director, I believe in providing opportunities for convicts to correct their mistakes and reintegrate into society, which is why special attention will be paid to the right to humane treatment,” emphasizes Isak.

The focus, he says, will be on education, professional development, resocialization, and reducing recidivism.

“Soon I will be happy to transparently present to the media and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) how this important function is performed professionally, honorably, and with dignity,” Isak added.

It should be mentioned that Isak’s father Ramo currently holds the position of Minister of Internal Affairs of the Federation of BiH (FBiH), and his brother Arnel is a member of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, Klix.ba reports.
