Two people have been arrested on suspicion of killing the head of the Russian army’s radiation, chemical and biological protection (RHB) Igor Kirillov and his assistant, Kommersant reported today.
According to the Russian newspaper, the suspects were tracked from the crime scene, where surveillance cameras recorded a pair of suspicious vehicles.
The organizers contacted the men via online applications and gave them the contacts of a contact from the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine), Tanjug reports.
“The crime was solved based on fresh clues,” a Kommersant source said.
There have been no official statements about the terrorist attack yet, Tanjug reports.
Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov and his assistant were killed on Tuesday in an explosion near an apartment building on Ryazansky Boulevard in Moscow.
The investigation determined that the explosives were attached to the handle of an electric scooter, and the force of the explosion was equivalent to approximately one kilogram of TNT.
