The Russian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina assessed that, due to the verdict sentencing the leader of the RS, Milorad Dodik, to a prison sentence, the country is once again threatened by war conflicts, and they blamed “Western instigators” for this.
In a post posted on their Facebook page on Friday, the Russian embassy accused the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina of sentencing Dodik to a year in prison and a six-year ban on political activity for political reasons for disobeying the decisions of the high representative of the international community.
They asserted that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina “by banal repetition of pseudo-legal Anglo-Saxon theses” convinced itself that Christian Schmidt was legitimately elected as high representative and thus had the right to impose changes to the criminal code on the basis of which Dodik was convicted.
“Special Operation”
They described the mandate of the current high representative as a “special operation” that the West reached out to “install the German citizen Schmidt”.
They say it is outrageous that the UN Security Council ignored Russian opposition to Schmidt’s appointment.
They also state that it is regrettable that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which should be the standard of objective and impartial judicial proceedings and an example of serving the rule of law, “allowed itself to be drawn into Anglo-Saxon provocations, which have only one goal – to quarrel the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
“Frankenstein War”
If the Frankenstein of war and conflict reappears here, it will be solely the fault of Western instigators and provocateurs, the announcement said.
Although it is a member of the Steering Committee of the Peace Implementation Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina (PIC), Russia has not participated in the work of that body for years, which has the task of coordinating the work of the Office of the High Representative (OHR).
After withdrawing from the PIC, faced with isolation due to its constant pro-Serbian positions, Russia continuously criticizes the other members of the body and challenges the mandate of the High Representative.
