Sarajevo Airport to become the first in the World with an actively established DJ Residency

Sarajevo International Airport will receive its first active DJ residency, and as part of the NUANCE+SJJ – Airport Experience Elevated project, it will also receive a specially curated art exhibition program within the terminal.

The NUANCE+SJJ – Airport Experience Elevated pilot project was officially presented in the Premium Lounge of Sarajevo International Airport, which represents a laboratory for developing a new travel experience through the synergy of creative industries, diplomatic missions and the corporate sector.

In addition to other program innovations and pop-up activations, the launch of the first active DJ residency was also announced, which would make Sarajevo International Airport the No. 1 Airport regionally and globally, as well as through the activation of the Nuance+ ART EXPO zone, a curated art exhibition program within the terminal.

This is a project that is the result of long-term preparations and creative cooperation between the Airport team and the Association for the Development and Creation of Ideas for the Future, which has been operating in the field of creative industries for over two decades, and was made official with the strong support of the Sarajevo International Airport Management and the presence of representatives of the French and Japanese embassies, as well as guests from the corporate sector and creative industries.

“We can proudly say that with the activation of this program, Sarajevo International Airport will enter the group of top 10 airports in the world with a regular art exhibition, and become the first airport in the world with an actively established DJ residency. We connect the sky, the city and ideas – and in a completely new way. This initiative opens the door not only to passengers, but also to artists, young talents, small entrepreneurs and everyone who wants to participate in creating a different airport experience with their ideas and energy,” said the Acting Director of JP MAS, Mr. Sanin Ramezić.

Omori Yuichiro – First Secretary and Head of the Economic Cooperation Department at the Embassy of Japan in BiH said: “Many tourists who visit Bosnia and Herzegovina first get their impression of the country at Sarajevo International Airport. Then, at the end of their trip, they recall their memories at the same place. From this perspective, the airport is an important window to Bosnia and Herzegovina and I believe that it will also play an important role in expanding passenger exchanges between Japan and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina has great potential in terms of innovative tourism and cultural heritage. Japan also hopes for the progressive development of the tourism sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

“With the Nuance+ SJJ initiative, the Airport becomes an expanded platform for cultural diplomacy and residency creativity – a place where local becomes global, and transit becomes an experience. Through annual DJ residencies, art exhibitions, NUANCE+ Business brunch, brand activations, masterclass sessions, cultural collaborations with embassies and local artisans along with business innovations – from museums to hotels – Sarajevo Airport is growing into a city in miniature. Its runway is no longer just physical – it is a runway of ideas for a new tomorrow,” said Mersel Bujak, NUANCE+ Ideatect, Klix.ba writes.
