
The ceremony was attended by the deputy of Reis- ul- ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH, Husejin Smajic, mufti of Sarajevo Enes Ljevakovic, mufti of Mostar Salem Dedovic, director of Gazi Husrev- bey’s madrasa Zijad Ljevakovic, and representatives of the Islamic Community as well as numerous personalities from political and cultural life of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Program started by reciting the passages from the Qur’ an al- Karim, after which the students from madrasa performed a rich program. The attendees have enjoyed in the beautiful performances of Islamic spiritual songs from the students of the madrasa.
The director of the Gazi Husrev- bey’s madrasa, Zijad Ljevakovic, said to the press that all members of this institution are proud of Gazi Husrev- bey, who felt the need to simultaneously build a Mosque, school and library and said that they are still somehow guiding ideas of a large number of Bosniaks and Muslims in this region.
“Also we are proud that since 1537, we had a library that today inherits a priceless treasure, and even manuscripts from 900’s.“ Said Ljevakovic.
