Sarajevo Entrepreneur: Half of my Workers will go to the Employment Bureau starting Tomorrow

A company with 52 employees will cut its workforce in half.

The owner and director of ANI-BH d.o.o. Sarajevo, Aida Dzabija-Dacic, stated that as of tomorrow, half of the employees in her company will go to the employment bureau.

This is a consequence of the decision to raise the minimum net wage to 1.000 BAM, with the gross wage rising to 1.744 BAM.

“I have 52 employees, and I am waiting until Friday to see if anything changes regarding the Government’s decision. If it doesn’t, I really wouldn’t take the risk of paying an additional 17.000 BAM in taxes. We can’t afford it; the numbers just don’t add up. I would kindly ask them to reconsider their decision,” Dzabija-Dacic said yesterday.

She mentioned that her company has four branches and that she is ready to close two and lay off half of her workforce.

“This is my final decision,” emphasized the owner of the company, which also operates a preschool institution.

She reminded that workers who are laid off due to technological redundancy will go to the employment bureau, where they will be supported at the state’s expense.
