The 7th congress on beekeeping and bee products with international participation is being held this weekend in Sarajevo, and about 200 participants from 12 countries are participating.
Midhat Jašić, on behalf of the organizers, said that there are more than 100 beekeepers, and the rest are representatives of the academic community, processors, industry, and representatives of state institutions.
According to him, a total of 30 works have been submitted, and the dominant works are from the field of apitherapy, which is now a trend in the world.
“Likewise, we have classic topics from good beekeeping practice in general, as well as a topic related to adulteration of honey, then topics related to rural development, economy and beekeeping,” said Jašić.
He says that the Congress gathers the academic community, beekeepers, food and pharmaceutical industry, but also representatives of state institutions from the country and abroad, and that they are trying to create a synergistic joint effect with the aim of improving beekeeping, both in BiH and the region.
The organizers of the Congress are the Association for Nutrition and Dietetics “Food for Health” BiH, the Faculty of Technology of the University of Tuzla, the Faculty of Food and Technology in Osijek and the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development in Požega, both as part of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek (Croatia).
According to the organizers, the Congress is a place for acquiring knowledge, information about progress and achievements in the field of beekeeping and bee products in the country and the world, but also a place for socializing, getting to know each other and establishing business contacts.
