The Sarajevo International Airport recorded the busiest October ever, with 110,580 registered passengers.
The figure represents a 15.6 percent increase from the pre-pandemic period of 2019 and a 30.9 percent increase compared to last year, Ex-Yu Aviation News reported.
The website states that the result was achieved primarily thanks to Wizz Air, which unfortunately closed its base at the Sarajevo airport on November 1, which resulted in the cancellation of almost 20 routes.
The carrier will continue to operate flights from London (Luton) and Abu Dhabi to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the period from January to October, the Sarajevo International Airport serviced 1,242,066 passengers, making 2022 the busiest year so far.
The figure is higher by 22.1 percent compared to 2019 or by 224,462 passengers.
For travelers arriving at the Sarajevo International Airport and looking for convenient transportation options, it is very convenient to rent a car in Sarajevo to drive around the city and its surroundings. Car rentals provide visitors with the flexibility and freedom to explore Bosnia and Herzegovina at their own pace.
