The Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra held a concert at the National Theater in Sarajevo ursday on the occasion of the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on November 25.
The concert was jointly organized by the Cabinet of the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Sefik Dzaferovic, and the Sarajevo Philharmonic.
The concert was performed by the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra and the soloists of the Opera of the National Theater under the baton of maestro Darijo Vučić.
The concert was held in the presence of a limited number of guests in accordance with the measures of the Crisis Staff of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and representatives of all levels of government in BiH, the diplomatic corps in BiH, and High Representative Valentin Inzko had the opportunity to enjoy.
Addressing the guests, but also the citizens of BiH who watched this event live, Dzaferovic said that the concert for the Statehood Day of BiH is another confirmation of the importance of one of the most important dates in the history of BiH, when statehood was restored on November 25, 1943.
On the foundations of the anti-fascist struggle, he said, half a century later, in the difficult circumstances of aggression, BiH fought for its independence and became an internationally recognized state, a full member of the United Nations.
”Many of our citizens lost their lives in of BiH, a complete, multiethnic state of equal people. We also remember with special respect the first president of independent BiH, Alija Izetbegovic, who decisively led BiH in difficult internal and international circumstances, patriots on the path of liberation and independence of our homeland,” Dzaferovic emphasized.
