Sarajevo will host the Second BH Slavic Congress, that will take place from 28th to 30 May this year at the Faculty of Philosophy.
President of the Organizing Board of the Congress, professor Sanjin Kodric said that it is about the largest ever organized scientific conference from the field of philology, i.e. linguistic and the literary studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, at which more than 260 Slavists from 23 countries of the world will participate.
Socially speaking, the Congress has special national importance, whereby, among other things, it will represent Sarajevo and B&H as one of the important European centers of knowledge; an accomplishment B&H had begun to draw nearer to four years previously in May 2011, with the organization of the First BH Slavic Congress, whose success set the stage for this year’s Congress.
The Congress is organized by the Slavic Committee, as the scientific and the expert body of Slavists in B&H of the highest rank in cooperation with the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo.
Notable sponsors of the Congress are the Office of the Chairman of Council of Ministers of B&H, Denis Zvizdic, Office of the Prime Minister of the Government of Canton Sarajevo, Elmedin Konakovic and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth with the minister, Elvir Kazazovic.
