Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, Ehsan Khandouzi, announced that he had very successful discussions with his counterpart from Saudi Arabia during his visit to the Arab country.
Khandouzi wrote on the social media platform X that they had constructive talks with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal F. Alibrahim.
“Faisal F. Alibrahim agreed to all five Iranian proposals,” emphasized the Iranian minister.
He mentioned that the Saudi minister also emphasized the need to develop a roadmap for economic cooperation in the public and private sectors.
An Iranian ministerial delegation, including the Minister of Economy, will visit Riyadh to participate in a meeting of the Islamic Development Bank.
Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said that consultations and dialogues between Tehran and Riyadh are ongoing at the political and economic levels.
“We have had economic matters on the agenda from the beginning of the negotiations between the two sides, and both sides are unanimous on this issue, and talks are ongoing,” said the senior Iranian diplomat.
Iran and Saudi Arabia signed an agreement mediated by China in March 2023 to restore their diplomatic relations after they were severed in 2016.
The two sides reopened their embassies several months later, Klix.ba reports.
