The Presidency of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) asks the Peace Implementation Council, the Office of the High Representative and the witness states of the Dayton Agreement to fulfill their obligations from that agreement and to finally and decisively react and permanently stop the secessionist forces led by Milorad Dodik, said SDA President Bekir Izetbegović, presenting some of the conclusions from today’s regular session of the SDA Presidency in Sarajevo.
Izetbegović notes that Dodik, as the leader of such a policy, must be removed from the political scene. The SDA Presidency maintains that the current indecision of the Council for the Implementation of Peace, the Office of the High Representative and the witness states of the Dayton Agreement only further strengthens Dodik’s secessionist policy.
“We believe that the latest decisions of the high representative, which refer to the laws passed in the National Assembly of the RS, are welcome, but that they are not enough. Without the changes, we do not believe that there will be a change in the situation in BiH. We call on the Prosecution of BiH to start doing its job and with constitutional and legal obligations, stop backing down before Milorad Dodik’s regime. They failed to prosecute anti-constitutional referendums, violations of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the adoption of laws in the RS, which attacked the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Izetbegović.
He notes that after the decisions of the High Representative which amended the criminal law, and after Dodik’s signature on the decree today, there is no longer any excuse or alibi for the inaction of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
The SDA Presidency believes that the conditions have not been met for the withdrawal of international judges from the Constitutional Court of BiH, which, according to Izetbegović, is the last barrier standing before secessionist policies. He points out that foreign judges should not be allowed to leave the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina at this time, and especially that the voice of one judge can completely block the state, which is Dodik’s request.
Izetbegović underlines that the issue of state property is a “red line”, and that the solutions that are imposed these days, to carry out its division into levels of government, are not acceptable in any case. He once again noted that the sole owner of state property can be Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the verdict of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He warned the “Coalition of Three” parties that they will bear full responsibility before the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as history, if they continue with servile politics in favor of SNSD and HDZ. Handing over the security sector to the SNSD, transport and infrastructure to the HDZ, and, as he said, the attempt to hand over control over the gas supply and a number of other concessions “show the readiness of the Troika to continue paying their seats to state interests.” .
“We consider disastrous the attempt to create a false narrative about the relaxation of relations, the new, changed Dodik, new negotiators who know how to deal with Dodik, and the SDA did not know, because in this way the public is euthanized and the real danger of the consequences of the secessionist policy led by the owner of the RS is reduced,” said Izetbegović.
He condemned the attempt of the leadership of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament to, as he said, with forged documents, in violation of the Constitution, laws and Rules of Procedure, in the midnight hours, fraudulently organize a session where a judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH would be elected. He notes that a Croatian judge would be acceptable for the SDA, but one who is a reference and who has the necessary experience in the judicial system, which last night’s proposal was not.
The SDA presidency also condemns the increasingly frequent attacks and pressures on returnees to Republika Srpska, for which it holds the authorities in that entity responsible. It calls on state institutions to ensure the safety of returnees and asks EUFOR to strengthen its presence in returnee areas. The SDA Presidency calls on the FBiH government and the cantonal governments to increase the amount of funds for a sustainable return to the RS.
