The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) believes that the conditions for the appointment of the President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have not been met, given that “an agreement has not yet been reached between the political subjects, without which the formation of the entity’s executive power is not possible.”
“The appointment of the president of the FBiH in such circumstances, and especially the election of a representative of the party that blocked democratic processes at the level of the FBiH for the past four years, would mean complicating the situation and deepening the existing crisis caused by blockages in the implementation of the results of the General Elections held in 2018, due to which the HDZ FBiH President Marinko Čavara ended up on the ‘black list’ of the United States of America,” said the SDA.
This political party states that since the signing of the Washington Agreement and the formation of the FBiH until today, the will of the people’s clubs has never been ignored and translated into the elected presidents/vice presidents of the FBiH.
“An attempt to introduce such a practice would represent an unacceptable violation of the FBiH Constitution and the electoral will of the Bosniak people. The re-election of the president of the FBiH from among the HDZ BiH, without prior clear agreement on the composition of the leadership and the FBiH Government, leads to further strengthening of the position of the HDZ BiH and the conscious handing over of the FBiH into the hands of that political party,” it is stated in the statement from the SDA.
