The collapse of the Government of the Una-Sana Canton two months before the general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina was assessed today at the press conference of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an unconstitutional attempt, and an appeal to the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was announced.
The political director of the SDP BiH, Nerin Dizdar, said that last night’s events in the cantonal assembly actually mean an unconstitutional attempt to replace the government, which, in his opinion, is a warning for the state.
“SDA and DF, supported by another of their local satellites, POMAK, showed through joint action that they are ready to subordinate the stability of institutions to political arbitrariness. This is a pattern that Bosnia and Herzegovina must not accept,” said Dizdar.
According to his statements, in the last 24 hours it became known, according to public reports, that there were candidates from three parties in circulation for the prime minister of the new government.
“This is not about forming but about overthrowing the Government. The goal was to overthrow the stable parliamentary majority and take over the institutions less than two months before the elections,” Nerin Dizdar said.
He also believes that the DF has shown that it is a mask of the Party of Democratic Action and that where it temporarily joined the government without the SDA, it did so for the purpose of undermining and eventually bringing the SDA into power.
The president of the SDP Cantonal Committee of the Una-Sana Canton, Almin Hopovac, said that the newly created situation is not just a ‘Krajija story’ but a blatant violation of the cantonal constitution.
“With unconstitutional moves and decisions, they wanted to simply steal the institutions from the citizens of the Canton. I believe that we must not allow this either as a political option or as responsible representatives at all levels,” said Hopovac.
He called the newly elected government “a government for demolishing and not for building anything” because, first of all, it is unrealistic to expect it to achieve anything in a month and a half before the election.
At an extraordinary session held last night, representatives of the Una-Sana Canton Assembly voted to replace the cantonal government headed by Prime Minister Mustafa Ružnić and appointed a new government of Prime Minister Ibrahim Dizdarić (Pomak).
The new parliamentary majority in USK consists of SDA, POMAK, Party for BiH and DF, with the support of one representative of NES, while SDP, NiP and part of the previous partners remained without participation in the executive power.
