Selma Adžem is a singer and lyrics writer from BiH. Her typical refugee happy ending story starts in Goražde and continues in Austria and in England where she’s building her international career.
Selma also does charity, and she donated sportswear to football club ”Birač” from Goražde.
Upon coming to Austria in 1992, she studied the language and then she started going to primary school, and she was a member of various music after school activities, and it was then where her talent was discovered, and with 13 years she became the first solo-singer in Music school ”Musikum”, and afterwards she started to sing in several jazz and soul bands, reports FENA.
Adžem participated in the German competition ‘‘Teenstar’’ and she was among top 13, and she also participated in the talent show ”Popstar”, where she came to the final stage of the competition.
From 2008 to 2011 she started performing at many important European festivals in Turkey, Germany, England and in Austria.
In late 2011 she moved to England , where she’s recording her first album with 12 songs called ”Special to me”
Last summer Selma and her band ”Selma & The Sound” have recorded an acoustic version of song ”Sve je laž” by Dino Merlin.
She said that she wants people to see BiH as a normal country and as a very beautiful country, and to make the interested in BiH, its culture, music, and people.
