Despite appeals from United Nations (UN) experts in February of this year to halt arms exports to Israel due to crimes in Gaza, Serbia exported weapons worth 14 million euros to this country in March, according to data collected by the Customs Administration.
This, as noted, is the third shipment of weapons Serbia has sent to Israel since Hamas attacks on Israel in October 2023.
Furthermore, the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) previously revealed that the leading state-owned arms export company, Yugoimport-SDPR, sent two shipments totaling over a million euros.
In October 2023, Yugoimport exported goods worth 540.120 euros, while in February of this year, it sent a shipment worth 510.000 euros to Israel, BIRN noted on the social media platform X.
The Ministry of Internal and Foreign Trade refused to provide detailed information to BIRN about how many weapons had been exported to Israel since the Hamas attacks in October 2023, declaring it a state secret.
