Serbia sent 900 Tons of Humanitarian Aid to the Population of Gaza

Serbia has sent 900 tons of humanitarian aid to the vulnerable population in Gaza amounting to three million euros, announced Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic on May 14th.

He stated that he informed the ambassadors of Islamic countries in Serbia about this and emphasized that he is particularly proud of Serbia’s solidarity and willingness to help those in dire humanitarian situations.

“Our policy is clear, it is a policy of peace, and Serbian citizens are sending humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza in the form of food, water, medical equipment, as well as tents for housing families. Serbia stands in solidarity with innocent people who are victims of tragic conflict,” said Minister Momirovic.

He thanked all those involved in the organization and distribution of humanitarian aid and added that the remainder of the aid will be transported by sea several times.

Around 1.1 million Palestinians in Gaza are facing catastrophic levels of hunger, while in the north of the territory, there is “complete starvation,” according to the United Nations (UN).

The Ministry of Health in Gaza, under Hamas control, which the United States (U.S.) and the European Union (EU) consider a terrorist organization, stated that at least 35.173 people have been killed since the start of the war in Palestinian territories.

The war was initiated by Hamas’s attack on southern Israel on October 7th, resulting in, according to Israeli data, approximately 1.200 deaths and more than 250 people taken hostage, Slobodna Evropa reports.
