Serbian Media announce a possible Referendum on Confidence in Vucic

Several media outlets from Serbia yesterday reported information about the initiation of a referendum on confidence in the country’s president, Aleksandar Vucic.

Local media indicate that the initiative to call the referendum is expected to be launched by deputies of the ruling SNS party in the National Assembly of Serbia.

The same sources report that this will happen following recent surveys and claims from the opposition that Vucic is losing public support in Serbia.

President Vucic had already offered the opposition in the National Assembly the option to request a referendum on his recall last August, expressing readiness to step down if half of the voters wished for it after the vote.
