Several prisoners freed by Russia in a historic exchange with the West, including journalist Evan Gerškovic and ex-Marine Paul Vilano, arrived in the US tonight.
The released prisoners arrived on a plane that landed around 11:40 PM at Andrews Air Force Base, near Washington, where they were met by US President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Yesterday, Turkey coordinated the exchange of 26 prisoners from Russia and several Western countries.
The exchange included persons from prisons in seven countries (USA, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Norway, Russia and Belarus),” the Turkish Presidency announced last night.
Seven planes were hired to transport prisoners.
