South Korea bans the Use of Cell Phones in Schools

South Korea’s parliament has passed a bill banning the use of mobile phones and other “smart” devices during school hours, the BBC reports.

The bill was passed with 115 votes in favor, out of 163 lawmakers present.

The BBC says the bill is the latest step in the fight against smartphone addiction and its harmful effects on children.

The bill will come into effect from the next school year, which begins in March next year in South Korea.
