The start of construction of the oil pipeline from Novi Sad in Serbia to Algyo in Hungary is planned by the end of this year, announced Serbia’s Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali after a meeting with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
In Belgrade, Mali discussed with the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs cooperation on joint projects, as well as the construction of the oil pipeline from Novi Sad to Algyo, whose beginning of works is planned by the end of 2025.
“Our focus was on strengthening economic ties, ensuring energy stability, developing joint infrastructure projects, and improving border crossings, including the establishment of ‘green corridors’ at the Kelebija-Tompa and Horgos-Roszke crossings,” Mali stated on his Instagram account.
As he emphasized, a priority is also the construction of a new gas pipeline from Horgos to Pojate, the development of the Pannonian corridor for electricity transmission, and the establishment of a joint electricity exchange between Serbia, Hungary, and Slovenia.
