According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics of Germany, 90,390 of them are men and 82,170 are women.
These statistics also include people with BiH citizenship as well as citizens of BiH who have a German passport or whose parents are from BiH.
If we analyze statistical data, we come to the interesting fact that at the end of 2016, there were 3,415 children under five in BiH in Germany, while there was also around 20,000 teenagers.
When it comes to the population between 20 and 45 years of age, there are 77,755 people, and there is about 49,000 of citizens between 45 and 65 years of age. There is also about 14,000 pensioners from BiH in Germany, and 10 of them are older than 95.
Data by to the Union for Sustainable Return and Integration in BiH collected on the basis of this research are in support of this thesis, which says that about 90,000 citizens left BiH since 2013, and 16,000 people left our country only last year.
“Among municipalities where the largest number of BH citizens leaving was recorded is Sanski Most. A total of 7,113 citizens or 2,335 families left this municipality. According to the data, 2,000 families and 6,000 persons left Zvornik, and 4,223 citizens left Brcko,” said Zukic.
Moreover, it is also interesting to emphasize that the population from the former Yugoslavia is the second group of foreigners living in Germany, right after the people from Turkey, and the peak of immigration from the former Yugoslavia was recorded in the period from 1995 to 1996.
