EUFOR was honoured to host Lieutenant General Ludovic Pinon de Quincy, the European Union Operational Commander for the EU Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, during his official visit to Sarajevo on March 17th.
Lieutenant General Pinon de Quincy conducted an office call with EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda, during which the two senior leaders held productive discussions on the current security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their exchange reaffirmed the EU’s continued commitment to supporting a safe and secure environment throughout the country.
Both commanders underscored the enduring importance of EUFOR’s mandate and reiterated the European Union’s steadfast dedication to preserving peace and stability in line with the Dayton Peace Agreement. They also highlighted the essential role EUFOR plays in providing reassurance to citizens and supporting local institutions in maintaining a secure environment.
During his visit, the Operational Commander had the opportunity to observe first-hand the joint training activities conducted by EUFOR and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In particular, he attended the ICARUS exercise, which represents an important step in the preparation phase for the upcoming “Combined Response 26” exercise, scheduled to take place in April at the Manjača Training Area.
Lieutenant General Pinon de Quincy’s visit reflects the EU’s ongoing engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its determination to contribute to long‑term stability and progress across the region.
