An earthquake with a magnitude of six has hit the South American country of Peru.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) announced that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the city of Caraveli in the Arequipa region of Peru.
They stated that it was registered at a depth of 19 kilometers.
According to data from the National Seismological Center, landslides occurred on some parts of the Pan American Highway after the earthquake.
In the statement of the National Center for Emergency Operations, it was stated that the earthquake caused damage to an educational institution, but that there were no human casualties.
