Strong Earthquake hits Turkey

An earthquake measuring five degrees on the Richter scale hit the Kozan district in the southern Turkish province of Adana, the Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) announced.

As reported, the earthquake occurred at 8:07 p.m. local time, at a depth of 20.13 kilometers and was felt in the surrounding provinces.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that emergency services teams were immediately dispatched to assess the situation.

“There are no reports of any adverse situations at this time,” Yerlikaya said, AA writes.
