A 6.9-magnitude earthquake has struck Myanmar, the German Geosciences Research Center (GFZ) said on Friday.
The quake was also felt in the Thai capital Bangkok, where hundreds of people fled their buildings.
There were no immediate reports of damage from the quake, which the GFZ said was at a depth of 10km with its epicentre near the city of Mandalay.
Witnesses in Bangkok said people ran into the streets in panic and water was splashing from swimming pools, Reuters reported.
